Contraindications of Arnica Oil
Arnica works by dilating capillaries, which increases blood flow to and from the injury. This increased blood flow brings healing hormones to the area and moves stagnant blood (like bruises). The result is decreased swelling and faster healing time. It’s best to use arnica on closed wound injuries.
There are some contraindications of Arnica oil, and some basic precautions should be taken into consideration before using it:
Avoid direct contact with the eyes.
Do not apply on open wounds.
It should never be ingested.
To prevent an allergic reaction, it is important to start using it in small amounts on the skin and observe how it reacts.
It is not recommended for use during pregnancy or when breast-feeding.
